Since 1982: Incumbent of the Chair for Criminal Law, Criminal Law Proceedings, Philosophy of Law and Legal Informatics at the Faculty of Law of Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.
1995: Founder of the Normfall Project at the University of Tübingen. 2000: Founder of Normfall GmbH with head office in Munich. Scholarly monitoring of Normfall Contents and Tools.
Author of numerous academic publications on legal informatics, alternative dispute resolution, criminal law and philosophy of law as well as many other popular works.
Founder of the Tübingen Negotiations Seminar. Involvement in the creation of the Mediation course of study at the Distance Teaching University of Hagen (beginning in 1998). Member of the examination committee for the Mediation distance learning course in Hagen. Member of the executive committee of the German Society for Mediation.
